Physical & Emotional Tension + Chronic Symptoms

Like migraines, sciatica pain, insomnia, irritability, anxiety, acne, menstrual issues, etc.

Refer to this chart to answer the following questions.

What body symptom would you like to focus on, to reverse engineer?

IE: Can be chronic pain, or even depression, anxiety/social anxiety or emotional dis-regulation in specific situations.

Ask your body to show you a memory that is contributing to this symptom.

(Could be a Trauma, a Memory or an Event, Experience, Emotion or Environment from your past)

Step 1: Close your eyes, and breathe in for 2 seconds and out for 4 seconds.

Repeat x3

Step 2: Ask, "Body, show me the memory that {symptom} is signalling".

Step 3: What memory are you shown?

Based on this experience, what attributes might you have adopted, shaping your CORE IDENTITY?

Prompts:

What beliefs may this have instilled within you?

What judgements, decisions or conclusions would you have made about the world?

What are the filters you would be seeing life through, due to this experience?

What ARMOUR may you be wearing to protect yourself from the pain of that memory OR from the pain of that experience happening again?

Now, get radically curious...

What repressed, suppressed or unexpressed emotions may be under the armour?

(You can follow the process from the previous question to ask your body to show you the emotions, OR you may be feeling them rising up now).

Do you see a correlation between the current body symptom & the memory?

Explain...

(If 'no', that's okay. Please explain what your experience was, with this process. This in itself can be very revealing).

Prior to the final question, please note:

We just went DEEP with this exercise.

It may have brought some unpleasant feelings to the surface, or it may have brought some relief!

Awareness in itself can be incredibly healing.

Give yourself space to be curious, sit with the emotion, move with the emotion, or journal & express yourself in safe ways.
